Trail Work Day at Edgewood Park
Saturday, March 13, 8:30 am - 1:30 pm
Edgewood Park consists of 467 acres of woodlands and grasslands in San Mateo County near Interstate 280 and Edgewood Road. There is no better time than the spring to volunteer for a trail work day in this park. Lunch will be provided by the Sierra Club. More.
Get Involved with Building Climate-Friendly Communities
The goal of the Chapter's "Building Climate-Friendly Communities" (BCFC) program is to increase citizen support of and involvement in proposals for livable, climate-friendly communities. Join our grassroots compaign by attending BCFC events or becoming a community activist. Visit the BCFC web page.

Chapter Offers E-mail Newsletter Option
Even with soy ink on recycled paper, the Loma Prietan newsletter uses resources and money. Chapter members can save the resources and direct the money towards saving even more of the planet by switching to the e-mail version of the Loma Prietan. Starting in March 2010 the Loma Prietan will be available both as a paper newsletter and as a short e-mail with links to full articles on the Chapter website (see sample e-mail).
Chapter Endorsements for Sierra Club Board of Directors Election
Voting deadline: April 21, 2010 at 12 noon, Pacific Time
In late Feb/early March, members will receive a ballot for the March 2010 election of the Sierra Club's national Board of Directors. The Board has a significant influence on the Club, setting the Club's major direction and organizing how the work should be done. The Chapter Executive Committee urges Chapter members to consider candidate positions carefully and VOTE either by mail or electronically.
The Loma Prieta Chapter recommends a vote for Allison Chin, Donna Buell, Robbie Cox, Jonathan Ela, and Phil Wheeler in the upcoming election for the Sierra Club's Board of Directors.
