2 = 5 to 10 miles
3 = 10 to 15 miles
4 = 15 to 20 miles
5 = 20 to 25 miles
A = Less than 1000 feet of total elevation gain
B = 1000 to 2000 feet
C = 2000 to 3000 feet
D = 3000 to 4000 feet
E = 4000 to 5000 feet
Thus a typical Saturday 4D outing encompasses 15-20 miles of distance and 3000-4000' of elevation gain.
November 4 - Los Gatos to Quicksilver, Sat. 4D.
We will do a one way hike
from Los Gatos to Almaden Quicksilver Park. Meet at the corner of
Mockingbird Lane and Gold Creek Way (the last corner before the park
entrance) in Almaden at 7:30AM. We will park on the street outside the park
and do a car shuttle to Los Gatos.

Hike on the east end of the Ohlone
Trail, NOT cancelled by rain, so expect muddy steep trails. Please read all

Meet at 8:00 am at the P&R
at 680 North Mission Blvd near Mission San Jose. No-Host carpool: 7:15 am at
Cubberley High (Middlefield & Montrose) in Palo Alto.

November 18 - San Francisco Hike, Sat. 3C.
We will hike the hills and streets of
San Francisco until the end of the day. There will be steep hills,
unimaginably wonderful vistas, perhaps a walk along a beach and or bay and
of course sidewalks. In the afternoon coffee will get us to the end.
Meet at Edgewood and 280 P&R 7:45AM or Fort Mason at 8:45.
