The hike rating system is as follows:
1 = Less than 5 miles of total distance
2 = 5 to 10 miles
3 = 10 to 15 miles
4 = 15 to 20 miles
5 = 20 to 25 miles
A = Less than 1000 feet of total elevation gain
B = 1000 to 2000 feet
C = 2000 to 3000 feet
D = 3000 to 4000 feet
E = 4000 to 5000 feet
Thus a typical Saturday 4D outing encompasses 15-20 miles of distance and 3000-4000' of elevation gain.
June 7 - Marin Headlands to Sausalito, Sat, 4C.
This is a moderately
paced hike which will begin at the Northwest end of the Golden Gate
Bridge. We will hike through the Marin Headlands to Tennessee Valley,
then over to Sausalito for an afternoon break before heading back to the
cars. Carpool: Edgewood Rd and Hwy 280 Park-n-Ride 7:45am or meet at the
parking lot at the Northwest end of the Golden Gate Bridge 8:30am. Must
call leaders if you have not hiked with the group.

June 14 - Mt Tamalpais, Sat, 4C-D.
Join us for a hike to the ocean and
back. Suggested No Host carpool at Edgewood Rd and Hwy 280 Park-n-Ride
7:45am or meet at the Mill Valley Bookstore at 9:00am. Call leader if
you have not hiked with the DHS.

June 21 - Big Basin Redwoods State Park, Sat, 4C-D.
Hike from Big Basin
Park Hdqtrs to Waddell Beach and back. Meet 8:00am, Argonaut Shopping
Center near Starbucks on Sunnyvale-Saratoga Rd or at Big Basin Hdqtrs
8:45am. Call leader if you have not hiked with the DHS.

June 28 - Hell Bent for Leather in El Corte De Madera, Sat, 4D.
Hike from Wunderlich and wander around El Corte de Madera until tired, then
return. About 19 mi with 3500 ft gain. Carpool: Hwy 280 and Woodside Rd
Park-n-Ride 7:45am or at Wunderlich Park 8:00am.
