The Sierra Club's Loma Prieta Chapter is carbon neutral: As of Aug. 1, 2005, all greenhouse gases generated through the day-to-day operation of the Chapter office are offset by purchasing "Green Tags" or Green Certificates through 3 Phases Energy. The GHG emissions (primarily CO2) generated by Chapter office electricity use, staff transportation and committee member transportation to attend meetings in the office are offset under the new initiative.
