GLS members are also eligible to become hike leaders, run for Governing Committee, and vote in Governing Committee elections. Membership dues are important to GLS because they are our primary source of funding! Dues are only $15.00/year and pay for expenses such as our phone, newsletter, printing, mailing, etc. If you've participated in more than a couple of GLS activities, we'd like you to become a member. We also encourage you to become a member of the Sierra Club. Send your Membership Request, or give your membership form and payment to a hike leader on your next GLS event. Memberships are renewable annually. You may also use the online Membership Request form to renew your membership. Also, remember every little part is Helping The Planet  - Sierra Club and GLS members have the satisfaction of helping preserve irreplaceable wild lands and wildlife through lobbying government officials and participating in grassroots action. Note: Membership fees are not tax deductible since the Sierra Club is a 501c4 nonprofit organization
