Santa Clara County

April 12 (Thursday), 7-9 p.m. Earth Day public forum on “Creating Sustainable Communities.” Come learn from experts about actions we can take to make our local communities more environmentally-friendly. April 21 (Saturday), 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Palo Alto Earth Fest at Mitchell Park. Music, children’s stage, theatrical performances, food and drink, energy-efficient light bulb give-away, electronics drop-off, environmental booths, workshops, and much more. Free. April 21 (Saturday), 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. San Francisquito Creek Clean-up organized by BAA+PCCF’s CRMP & Habitat Restoration Program. Meet at El Palo Alto Park (corner of Alma Street and Palo Alto Avenue). Wear long pants, long sleeves, and old tennis shoes or hiking boots. Come prepared to get wet. Bring your kids and friends. April 22 (Sunday), 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Trail building at the Arastradero Preserve in Palo Alto. Training, tools, and spectacular trail-building settings will be provided. Just wear sturdy work shoes, long pants and a hat. Bring plenty of fluids and gloves (if you have them). Lunch will be provided. Locations are San Gregorio State Beach, Venice State Beach, Surfer’s Beach in El Granada, Montara State Beach, and Pacifica State Beach in Linda Mar. Bring your own gloves.
