New Activist Joins Chapter
The Loma Prieta Chapter has a new activist representing the Sierra Club on two Santa Clara County transportation committees.
Patrick Moore has joined the transportation committee as its Santa Clara County representative. The chapter has a designated seat on two county committees: the 1996 Measure A/B Transportation Sales Tax “Citizen Watchdog Committee” and a Silicon Valley Rapid Transit Corridor committee that deals with the 2000 Measure A Sales Tax, specifically the Major Investment Study that must be done prior to extending BART from Fremont to San Jose/Santa Clara.
“Being new to activism but not to being concerned about the environment, I look forward to aiding the push toward making the Bay Area transit friendly.
