The Publicity Committee is a standing committee which can consist of as many members as needed to carry on its mission. The PCS Chair appoints the PubComm Chair and the PubComm chair in turn selects the rest of the PubComm members with the approval of the PCS Chair. The goal of the PubComm is to maximize awareness of and participation in activities which further the goals of the PCS. The committee shall be responsible for all PCS publicity, which may include:

1. Present slide shows promoting the PCS to other hiking and climbing clubs and to prospects and members at Sierra Club gatherings,
2. Lobby Chapter and National entities on issues related to climbing activities,
3. Develop and distribute flyers and informational brochures or other sources of PCS information to hiking and climbing stores and other likely locations where new members may be found,
4. Develop articles or written pieces promoting the PCS which can be distributed to internet email lists or other websites,
5. Develop articles or written pieces promoting the PCS which can be distributed to the Loma Prietan newsletter and/or other newsletters (including listing selected trips in the Loma Prietan and cross-listing trips with other sections),
6. Mail out Scree newsletters and informational sheets in response to queries from prospective members.
