Operating Rules may be enacted by a simple majority vote of PCS members
and do not require Chapter approval, as spelled out in Article VIII of the PCS Bylaws.
Operating rules must not conflict with the PCS Bylaws,
the Loma Prieta Chapter Bylaws
or the Sierra Club Bylaws.

This operating rule was voted into effect at the June 1995 PCS Meeting, by a
margin of 27 in favor vs. 2 against.
Electronic Scree (EScree) Operating Rule
The Peak Climbing Section newsletter shall be published in hardcopy
format and in an electronic format. Electronic subscriptions will be
free, but will not be subsidized by hardcopy subscriptions. People
receiving only the electronic version will have to apply to the Secretary
to be on the membership roster. Because of Chapter policy that trips are
not advertised outside Club publications, the electronic Scree shall
contain a directive that it not be posted on public news groups.
