Trailhead Shuttles

Country Corners:  1-877-656-0756 (toll free) or 760-872-3951 This service, which operates out of Big Pine, offers a relatively economical shuttle service.  As an example, a shuttle (up to 4 people) from Mosquito Flat to North Lake ran $65 in May 2001.  In this case, they accepted a reservation only a few days in advance and without any pre-payment.  Very nice.

Inyo-Mono Dial-a-ride:  1-800-922-1930 (toll free) or 760-872-1901 Bishop-based Dial-a-ride has larger vehicles, but requires at least two weeks advance notice and is more expensive.  A Mosquito Flat to North Lake shuttle would have cost over $200 in May 2001.

The Wilder House Bed & Breakfast:  760-878-2119 Three miles north of Independence, this B&B has a 24-hour shuttle service which uses large 4WD vehicles.  In February 2002, a shuttle from the Whitney Portal road closure to 9500' on the Horseshoe Meadows Road cost $80.  You don't have to stay there to use their shuttle service, but the word is that the B&B is very nice, has great food, and is affordable.

Mammoth Shuttle System:  760-934-3030 A shuttle service based in Mammoth Lakes, CA.  As an example, a shuttle from Twin Lakes near Bridgeport to the Hwy 120 closure 5 miles west of Lee Vining cost $125 in April 2002.

Sierra Express Transportation:  760-937-TAXI A shuttle service operating out of Mammoth Lakes, CA.
