This contest began on Wednesday, January 9, 2002 and concluded at 11:59:59 PM on January 30, 2002.
With the contest over, you can still play for fun.

There were a total of 24 entries.

With four prizes to be awarded, there was a four-way tie for first place, each with only two incorrect responses.
The 1st-4th place positions were determined by date of entry.
Steve Aho takes first place, Michael Graupe second, Tom Curl third, and Ron Hudson fourth.
All four were tied with 18 points.
Following a two week period to allow for anybody to point out any mistakes in the quiz, the prizes will be shipped.

If you disagree with any of the answers (and feel that it will affect the outcome of the contest), make your case to me ASAP.
I will consider any arguments over the next two weeks; after that, the prizes will ship.

| Correction |
|
There was an error in the scoring of Michael Gordon's entry.
His answer for question 9 was correct, but a programming error rendered it incorrect.
He has been awarded another point, giving him 15 points and vaulting him to eighth place -- still out of the money.

After a period of profound laziness (well, I was out of town for a while too), I finally shipped the prizes on February 26, 2002.
Steve Aho wins the latest edition of The High Sierra: Peaks, Passes and Trails, Michael Graupe will receive the Denali Climbing Guide,
Tom Curl reels in the latest edition of Mexico's Volcanoes - A Climbing Guide, and Ron Hudson gets a copy of Aconcogua - A Climbing Guide.
