The PCS Quiz #4 Contest Results
Play the Quiz   |   Answers

This contest began on March 12, 2002 and concluded at 11:59:59 PM on April 2, 2002.  With the contest over, you can still play for fun.  Or if you prefer, you can simply view the answers.

There were a total of 7 entries.
Quiz #4 Winners & Losers
Another lackluster showing, and quite possibly the death knell for these quizzes.  All seven of those who entered scored high, but nobody could quite ace the quiz.  Craig Taylor resubmitted a new set of answers, ended up with the exact same score, and as a result fell out of what would have been third place had he just sat tight.  You missed out on a great comic book, Craig!

The winner was Michael Graupe, whose only incorrect answer was for question #11, a trouble spot for most of the entrants (who understandably thought the answer was the former gymnast Lynn Hill).  A Black Diamond Lunar Headlamp to you, Michael.  Second place fell to the often maligned guidebook author R.J. Secor, who knew the answer to question #11, but apparently doesn't follow the bouldering scene (never heard of Lisa Rands?).  He will receive a Swiss Army Recruit Knife.  Third place was taken by Tom Curl, my brother, who again surprised me with his knowledge of this stuff.  Tom gets to laugh until he pukes with one of Tami Knight's comic books, Climbing Tales of Terror.

Sadly, our only female entrant in this contest took last place.  What's up with that?  Could it be that most of the women were out climbing while the men were at home playing with their mice?
