The Peak Climbing Section (PCS) is an activity section of the Loma Prieta Chapter of the Sierra Club. We're a diverse group brought together by our love for climbing in the mountains. Our activities are as varied as the Sierra topography: we climb rock, snow and ice, crags and high summits, we ski and snowshoe, hike the local hills and travel abroad to climb. Our focus is on non-technical ascents of peaks in the Sierra Nevada. Each month we publish our newsletter, Scree.

Our Next Meeting

Our meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month. You are welcome to attend.

Annual Holiday Party

Meeting Location: 

Come one, come all to our annual holiday party where we indulge in a potluck dinner, view trip highlights, and generally have a rollicking good time. Family members & friends are welcome - if they dare to be seen with crazy climbers.

Bring a dozen photos and some yummy food dish to share, as well as your own plate, utensils and cup. (Re-usable items will minimize waste.) We'll supply some basic drinks and paper towels, but that's it. If you'd like to bring a special beverage, please do so. Alcohol is OK. The cafeteria at Caliper has a small kitchen area with a couple of microwaves and a sink.

Bring your digital pics on a USB flash drive or a CD-ROM. Old-fashioned slides will also be accommodated.

Annual Election of PCS Officers

The following officers were elected at the PCS meeting on the 11th of November. They will take office on January 1st, 2009. Congratulations to them and a big thank you to our current officers, Lisa Barboza, Rod McCalley, and Alex Sapozhnikov.
