Web Volunteers

We are forming a team to manage the redesign and redeployment of the chapter web site. We seek volunteers with a wide range of skills and time availability. Desired skill areas include Drupal, HTML coding, visual design and information architecture. We are also in need of strong writers and people who can help with maintaining the site content. Time commitments will vary and can be adjusted to the time you have available. If you are interested in applying, or just learning more, please contact the chapter Webmaster, Joe Baker, joe@joebaker.us [Posted on Dec 20, 2011]

Beyond Blogging

Unlike an alarming amount of what's published today or posted on the web, the material in the Loma Prietan is based on facts. We need folks who will go out and find those facts and then organize them into articles readers will want to spend time with. (Yes, we sometimes end sentences with prepositions.) But we endeavor to keep it lively and interesting. Photographers and editors: we'd like to hear from you, too. If you'd like to help, write to newsletter@lomaprieta.sierraclub.org or call David at 650-941-5672. [Posted on Nov 1, 2010]

Beyond School

Want to be like Brian Cramer? He says, "This internship was a blast and gave me realworld experience in grassroots organizing. I'm ending my summer internship with a stronger skill set and a feeling of accomplishment knowing that I've made a real difference in my community." If you want to work closely with the Chapter's Grassroots Organizer to foster support for smart growth and green buildings, and if you also have strong communication skills and a commitment to the Sierra Club's goals, we're looking for you. Our unpaid interns work 8-10 hours a week for 3-5 months, mostly during business hours. Send resumes and cover letters to megan.fluke@sierraclub.org. [Posted on Nov 1, 2010]

Beyond Cool

Do you want to live in a greener city? Join your local Cool Cities Team. Cool Cities Teams are organized grassroots groups of residents who volunteer to work with decision makers to reduce our cities' greenhouse gas emissions—by supporting smart growth and green buildings along with organizing community education events. Contact Megan at megan.fluke@sierraclub.org or (650)-390-9604. [Posted on Nov 1, 2010]
