Volunteering with the Sierra Club is a great way to help protect our environment and at the same time meet people with similar interests and passions. The Loma Prieta Chapter gets its work done because people like you step up and volunteer to help.

Calling Writers, Photographers, Editors...
The congenial group that works on The Loma Prietan newsletter is on the lookout for people who can help us make it even better. We need perspicacious reporters, meticulous editors, and ace photographers — plus folks with organizational, Photoshop, or schmoozing skills. Solomonic wisdom is also good. Organizer for Environmental Forum for Newly Elected Officials
If you have the ability to organize a meeting, writing skills, an aptitude for web based
research and a friendly attitude, the Political Committee
needs you! You would help organize a three-hour Forum of local environmental issues for government
officials and potential candidates by
• Inviting and registering the officials
• Organizing the facility
• Coordinating the logistics

Volunteer opportunities for Third Tuesdays
Many of you have demonstrated interest in monthly lectures by attending our
Third Tuesday events at the Adobe Building in Mountain View.
To maintain the high quality of programs and take it to the next level, we encourage your participation:
• Program Coordinator — Contact potential
speakers, encourage their participation, and
solidify a schedule. No meetings required!
We also welcome suggestions for interactive
presentations that you or your friends may
like to share!
• Publicity Coordinator — Promote the events
through captivating ads in the Loma Prietan
and other media. Make sure that the ads run
on schedule.
• Sponsors — If you know of businesses or
individuals who would like to donate for or
sponsor our events, please do let us know.
Apart from cash, we also appreciate donations
in kind (wine or suitable food items).

Get Technical! Geographic Information Systems Committee
The GIS Committee is looking for volunteers with ESRI or Google Earth experience.
You can help the GIS committee with your skills in providing
• General communications to members
• Mapping services for all chapter entities
• Zoning review, EIR review & trail maps,
• Construction & transportation proposals,
• Regional group boundaries, endangered
species habitat distribution and voting patterns.
